The coastal town of Lowestoft can be found in the county of Suffolk in England. It overlooks the North Sea and is in fact the most easterly point in the whole of the UK and has a population of just less than 60,000 residents. Despite that, there is a pier, ten pin bowling, lots of shops and eateries for holidaymakers so that anyone visitors will find that there is plenty to see and do around the beach during their break.
Lowestoft is a fantastic seaside resort with a wonderful sandy beach and a quaint harbour. It is the perfect holiday destination for families looking to go on a self-catering cottage break in Suffolk as there are countless things to do. Known as the Sunrise Coast due to its easterly position, and there are a couple of beaches in the south of the harbour which are popular with sunbathers and swimmers. There are also two piers here which have great facilities including cafes and amusement arcades. One of the beaches near to Claremont Pier is a Blue flag beach.
At the northern end of Lowestoft, towards Corton, at the end of Links Road, is a wide stretch of overgrown beach that is perfect for dog walking all year round. There is also a large free car park.
Boat trips can be taken along the River Waveney and the Broads, as well as water sports activities such as canoeing, for those who love the water.
